Vicious Fishes Brewery is seeking qualified beertenders to serve our customers in our Angier, NC brewery and taproom. We are seeking talented, enthusiastic, beer knowing, customer service-oriented people to join our Front of House Team. A passion for craft beer and commitment to ensuring our patrons have a great time visiting the brewery is a must. This is a great opportunity for someone looking to join a brewery on the ground level and assist in bringing that brewery to life!


What you’ll be doing:

  • Maintain a safe, clean and attractive environment for our guests and employees

  • Pour beer and wine in the taproom

  • Fill growlers

  • Operate the taproom point of sale system to reliably perform cash handling and credit card transactions

  • Balance the register at the end of the shift

  • Bus tables and clean/sanitize glassware

  • Maintain cleanliness of the taproom

  • Perform opening/closing tasks and sidework duties as a self-starter

  • Follow alcohol awareness procedures for preventing intoxication and dealing with intoxicated guests

  • Consistently meet all best practice standards set in employee handbook and during training.

  • Team player with the ability to work calmly and effectively under pressure

  • Knowledge of and passion for craft beer, beer styles and the brewing industry

  • Strong multi-tasking skills

  • Available to work flexible hours, including, evenings, weekends, and/or holidays as dictated by the workload and staffing

  • Professional, polite, and reliable

  • Ability to follow written and verbal instruction

  • Must have problem solving abilities & be able to think quickly on your feet

  • Previous Bartending experience preferred of at least 1 year

  • Must be at least 21 years of age

  • Ability to be flexible in work location once our Apex, NC taproom opens in Summer 2018

Physical demands:

  • Frequent lifting: 25-50 lbs.

Visual, hearing, dexterity, and mental demand:

  • Ability to perform the essential functions of the job such as operating taproom equipment, setting up tables and chairs, moving cases and kegs of beer, using a telephone, etc.

Working conditions:

  • The duties and responsibilities are generally performed in a taproom / brewery environment in addition to bars, restaurants, event venues, etc.


The position generally involves continuous standing, frequent walking, moderate to heavy lifting, moderate to heavy carrying, frequent bending and reaching, frequent climbing of stairs and ladders, and in-person communication
